Ciel Media Inc. is a Nunavut business incorporated federally and extra-territorially in Nunavut. The business is owned by Casey Lessard, a five-year resident of Iqaluit, who has worked during that time for Nunavut News (previously Nunavut News/North) as a reporter covering news from the Qikiqtaaluk region, and as a product developer and editor.
Prior to his time in Nunavut, Mr. Lessard owned a newspaper in Ontario that won numerous provincial and national awards. His résumé also includes work as: a television news writer and editor for CTV; an audio editor for the BBC World Service; a photographer in Ontario, England, Scotland, and France; and a journalism and page design instructor at one of Canada’s top media colleges.
Mr. Lessard works with a long-time friend and a skilled communications professional, Carmen Kinniburgh, who resides in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Ms. Kinniburgh is a content writer and editor whose experience in science and non-governmental organizations are an excellent addition to Ciel Media Inc.’s capabilities.
Mr. Lessard’s team also includes his niece, Jessica Lessard, an intermediate graphic designer based in Oshawa, Ontario. Ms. Lessard has contributed to various advertising campaigns for major corporations, and to digital magazines for high-end department store Holt Renfrew.
